An early odd-closured clear quart that is embossed in strongly-raised, stylized block lettering: "FIRST PREMIUM". Unlike the later, mass-produced "Premium" jars, this early jar is hand-blown with a ground mouth. An extremely obscure jar of which only two known examples have ever surfaced. Shiny glass in fine condition without damage to the jar itself. There's a faint trace of light deposit on the interior. Original glass lid and original shaped iron wire clamp. The glass lid does has a flat chip off one edge as shown. Base: unmarked.
This item is from the Philip Robinson museum collection.
