DESCRIPTION

Size:  QUART

Color: DEEP STRONG AQUA

Closure: grooved ring wax sealer mouth finish for a tin cap sealed with wax

Appearance: shiny

Condition: the sheared mouth has an elongated chip out of it as well as minor chipping and roughness, otherwise the jar is in good overall condition

Strength of embossing: strong

Base: black iron pontil scar

Age: 1850's

Availability: scarce early figural barrel wax sealer attributed to Ravenna Glass Works
