Closure: correct original small size solid glass cap with three internal lugs and embossed "HARTELLS GLASS AIR TIGHT COVER" around the outer edge and "PATENTED OCT 19 1858" on the top in a circular arrangement

Appearance: shiny

Condition: normal flaking of the ground mouth

Strength of embossing: lid strong

Base: unmarked

Age: c1860's

Availability: scarce in pint size
