Closure: correct original glass lid with three internal lugs, with embossed 1878 patent date

Appearance: shiny, with light scuffing at the shoulder

Condition: manufacturer's roughness and flaking of the ground mouth

Strength of embossing: strong

Base: unmarked

Age: late 1800's
