Closure:  Griffens glass lid with 1862 patent date with cast iron cage-like clamp

Appearance: sparkling glass

Condition:  small manufacturer's starred pot stone

Age:  1860's

Availability:  uncommon, the jar has the short neck lugs of a Ludlow patent jar, with an original Griffens closure
