An aqua midget pint with an improved style closure. Embossed on the front: "MASONS IMPROVED" and on the reverse with a large hourglass-shaped device as shown. This resulted from the removal of the previous "HGW" monogram from the mold. Displays a nice light whittled effect. Shiny glass with good strong embossing and no damage or stains. The ground mouth has edge flaking. Correct glass lid and zinc screw band closure. Base: "PATd MAY 10 1870" encircling a mold number "1". A scarce old midget that is rarely seen for sale.
