A Gallon+ sized advertising jar embossed in boldly-raised block lettering: "THE GEM". Shiny glass with good crude character including a nice light overall whittled effect. No damage other than normal ground mouth edge flaking. Closure consists of a MASONS IMPROVED glass insert and lugged zinc band as shown. Base: Multiple patent dates and "H. BROOKE MOULD MAKER NEW YORK". Has one pot stone in the back with tiny radiations. A great looking example.
