Embossing: strong, note that 3 of the 4 panels have peened-out and/or superimposed lettering. The rear panel is fully embossed "BENNETT PIETERS & CO" with no erasing. One side panel shows only an erased "CHICAGO". The other side panel shows an erased "BENNETT PIETERS & CO". On the panel embossed "RED JACKET BITTERS", both lines of lettering are superimposed over 2 lines of erased lettering that is uncertain, but might read "21 RIVER STREET CHICAGO".
Base: smooth base with "A&Co / No 5"
Notes: This variant is similar to the bottle listed in Ring/Ham "Bitters Bottles Supplement" as R19.5 which is cited as "Very Rare". Except that R19.5 is not listed as having a side panel with only the erased word "CHICAGO".
