A deep amber half gallon shoulder seal jar embossed in heavily raised lettering as shown: "MASONS PATENT NOV 30TH 1858". Sparkling glass without damage or stains and displaying some nice crude character. Excellent ground mouth with very little nicking. Base: "A8" over a "B". Interesting early zinc cap which has embossed lettering as shown, instead of the usual impressed lettering. A great looking colored 1858 jar.
