An aqua half-gallon sized example of this primitive cylindrical wax sealer, with a push-down style mouth finish. The embossing is somewhat weak on both the front and back, but the jar is in good overall shape without damage. Smooth unmarked base and a ground mouth finish. No damage other than some surface scratching. The ground mouth has edge flaking. One of the earliest patent dated canning jars.
