Closure:  Excellent original closure consisting of the aqua glass lid, the original cast iron yoke clamp with round-headed thumbscrew, and the original full wire clamp, all in fine untouched condition. The metal still shows some of the original black painted surface.

Appearance: sparkling glass with swirly and seedy character

Condition:  normal edge flaking of the ground mouth

Age:  late 1800's

Availability: Scarce early jar and a beautiful example. The half gallon size in this series shows the distinctive tapered Van Vliet shape the most dramatically. A great looking early jar.
