Color: AQUAMARINE
Closure: correct glass lid and original wire clamp
Appearance: sparkling glass with whittled character throughout
Condition: normal roughness and flaking of the ground mouth
Embossing: strong
Base: 1868 patent date
Age: c1870
Availability: Scarce and a beautiful example. This jar is from a hoard of a dozen that turned up, all without closures, and appear to have never been used, based on having no wear or signs of usage, not even base wear. We were able to locate an original clamp and lid for this one, which is included.
