Color: BLACK GLASS (Olive Black)
Closure: unmarked zinc cap
Appearance: shiny
Condition: flaking of the ground mouth
Strength of embossing: strong from top to bottom

Age: 1877
Availability: Rare jar, and a fine example that is fresh to the market. Made by the Hemingray Glass Company (Cincinnati, OH and Covington, KY), who made black glass items for only one year, in 1877. A fantastic find and a beautiful early jar.
