Closure: Correct original elaborate iron and wire clamp assembly with original wooden spool. The unmarked glass lid fits perfectly, but may not be original.
Appearance: sparkling & crude with a nice whittled effect
Condition: no damage including a good ground mouth with very little flaking

Age: late 1800's
Availability: Scarce early odd-closured jar, and one of the few closure designs in history that used a wooden component as part of the closure.
