DESCRIPTION
Size: HALF GALLON
Color: EMERALD GREEN
Closure: Correct original tin screw cap with carrying bail and embossed 1886 patent date lettering. The cap is in fine shape, other than the area of interest on the side as shown, which is either an old repair or part of the original design. Normally these caps are either missing entirely, or in very bad shape....whereas this is one of the best examples of this rare cap we've seen.
Appearance: sparkling
Condition: normal minor roughness of the ground mouth
Strength of embossing: base lettering only
Base: "PATENTED JULY 2 1886 CB"
Age: late 1800's
Availability: very scarce
