Color: AQUAMARINE
Closure: an original Griffens cast iron cage clamp with olive green Griffens lid
Appearance: sparkling
Condition: minor nicking of the smooth mouth
Base: unmarked
Age: 1860's
Availability: Scarce, the lid was mis-matched to the jar either by a home canner at an early date, or by a collector in modern times. Of course the Ludlow glass lids are available and one could be easily swapped onto the jar if desired.
