A medium amber quart embossed with a Hero Cross above MASONS PATENT NOV 30TH 1858. Note that the embossing configuration and style is different from the typical version. On the back side of the jar is a large ghosted circle with two rivet marks. Possibly resulted from the removal of a previous HGW monogram from the mold. Crisp embossing and sparkling clean glass with no damage or stains. Good ground rim with very little nicking. Base: Hero date circle and 277. A scarce old Mason jar and a fine example.
