DESCRIPTION
Size: QUART
Color: AQUAMARINE
Closure: original high-finned glass lid with 1868 patent date, and correct original brass clamp with an untouched old dark patina
Appearance: shiny glass with a nicely whittled appearance
Condition: edge flaking of the ground mouth
Embossing: strong, and note there is an embossed "4" dead center on the back of the jar
Base: unmarked
Age: c1870
Availability: scarce early patent closure jar, and a sharp example
