Color: clear with a slight green tint
Closure: original threaded pewter collar permanently attached to the neck of the jar and the original pewter and tin cap in fine shape with boldly embossed lettering all around the perimeter
Appearance: sparkling crude glass
Condition: no damage

Base: open pontil scarred base
Age: c1860-1870
Availability: scarce early, crude & primitive-looking jar, and a sharp example
