DESCRIPTION
An early aqua quart embossed: "THE EMPIRE". The jar displays outrageous glass character throughout with seed bubbles, whittle, and traces of off-colored glass. Comes with the extremely scarce correct original cast iron cam-action clamp in fine shape with very little rust, as well as the original correct heavy glass lid. Sparkling clean with no damage or stains. The ground mouth has the usual roughness all around that occurred in the manufacturing. Base: "PAT FEB 13 1866". A fantastic example of this scarce odd closured jar.
